Savener Engineering has successfully completed the project management of the comprehensive roof refurbishment works at the Training Centre of the AIRBUS factory in San Pablo Sur (Seville), a key project within the aerospace company’s maintenance department’s strategy. The project has definitively resolved existing leakage issues, whilst also improving skylights and the sealing of building elements, its energy performance and its architectural integration. All this has been carried out whilst ensuring that office and training activities inside the building could continue without interference or disruption to normal operations.
The project, conceived and developed by Savener as the lead engineering firm for AIRBUS, followed a value engineering approach based on process control, the optimisation of construction solutions and the application of high-performance materials. The technical solution included multi-layer waterproofing systems, improved thermal insulation and the redesign of specific areas to ensure the durability and watertightness of the structure.
The planning has been executed with precision, coordinating construction phases with the building’s internal operations and ensuring appropriate coordination of works in response to adverse weather conditions due to the time of year in which the work was carried out, all without compromising safety or accessibility. The monitoring of suppliers, the traceability of materials and on-site supervision have been key factors in the successful execution of the project.
On this occasion, the project was carried out under an EPC contract, highlighting the close coordination between the engineering and construction teams, which enabled the property owner’s objectives to be met and processes to be significantly optimised.
This project marks the provisional completion of the roof maintenance plan, bringing to a close the other works carried out by Savener in the factory area, where infrastructure modernisation, roof refurbishment and energy efficiency improvements have been key priorities. Similar projects have reinforced the client’s confidence in ’s ability to undertake critical works without impacting production, consolidating its position in the field of factory maintenance.
