Savener has successfully completed the full design of the piping discipline for the Shuweihat desalination plant, located in the western region of the United Arab Emirates, within the emblematic industrial complex “Shuweihat Power Station.” This plant, based on reverse osmosis technology, will have a production capacity of 318,225 m³/day of desalinated water, making it one of the largest infrastructures of its kind in the region.
The completion of this discipline marks a significant milestone, as it also signifies the conclusion of all engineering services contracted to Savener for this project. With this, the multidisciplinary design phase of the plant—encompassing all the technical specialties involved—comes to an end.
The project stands as a remarkable example of technical coordination and commitment to the highest standards of engineering quality. After several months of intense work, the teams have successfully completed a critical discipline for the plant’s operation: the piping system, an essential component for the efficient distribution of hydraulic flow throughout the desalination process.
One of the main technical challenges was the integration of the piping system within a limited spatial environment, constrained by structural and operational restrictions. This scenario required a highly optimized design that ensured not only system functionality but also safety, maintainability, and operational efficiency throughout the facility.
With this final phase completed, the project now moves into the construction stage on a solid foundation, the result of robust and well-coordinated engineering. This new achievement reaffirms Savener’s role as a key player in the development of sustainable and highly complex solutions in the field of international water infrastructure.
