Savener has successfully completed the work of a new airlock in one of the main hangars of the Airbus factory in Getafe (Madrid), a key action within the ambitious A320 Revamp programme, promoting the Airbus strategy of integrating energy efficiency both in the execution of its projects and facilities as well as in its future operations.
This intervention, executed under the technical coordination of Savener, has been designed to allow the passage of aeronautical parts from the outside to the inside of the hangar without compromising the critical environmental conditions of the main development space of the programme. Thanks to a high-precision interlocking system and advanced climate control, temperature and humidity are maintained within strict parameters even during gate opening operations, thus guaranteeing operational continuity and process quality.
The work, executed in total alignment with the original project, has stood out for its high level of control and constructive fidelity, achieved through the intensive use of a three-dimensional model developed with BIM methodology. This approach made it possible to anticipate interferences, reduce common deviations on site and coordinate all the disciplines involved. In addition, sustainable materials were integrated and the existing architecture was respected, improving functionality without altering the image of the complex.
The technical milestones of the project include 3D scanning prior to design, integration with systems already in operation at the plant, the application of value engineering criteria and the significant improvement of access to the facility, always prioritising the safety of workers and the efficiency of the process.
This new success consolidates Savener’s commitment to energy efficiency, technical innovation and continuous improvement of the industrial environment. In addition to representing a visual and functional improvement for AIRBUS, this intervention demonstrates the added value that SAVENER brings to its clients, reinforcing its position as a benchmark engineering company in the sector.
